Website: www.austintexas.gov/page/watershed-protection-ordinance-0   Topic:  Improved Stormwater Controls, Part 1 Austin has used structural controls to regulate the rate, quantity and quality of urban stormwater since 1974 (for flood detention) and 1980 (for water quality). Our ordinance will benefit from incorporating the experience we have gained over these many years since these early days.

Staff will present an overview of our practices now and how these might be improved. Staff will then turn to you, the stakeholders, to get your feedback to broaden our understanding of what can and should be done in the new ordinance (and associated drainage and environmental criteria manuals) to improve how these controls are designed, permitted, built, and maintained. We will likely hold three meetings on this major topic.
